Applegate Insulation began with Aaron Applegate discovering the benefits of cellulose insulation in the retrofit market in the Lansing, Michigan area over fifty years ago when he was selling electric heating. That’s when we launched into the insulation business as an insulation contractor. In the 1970’s, when there was trouble with the quality of cellulose insulation available Aaron and Terry Applegate began manufacturing Applegate Cellulose Insulation. Since then, Applegate has expanded to become the largest privately held cellulose insulation manufacturer, currently with seven factories. We have added current technology to our increasing knowledge, so we are able to produce one of the highest quality low dust cellulose insulation’s in the country. Due to our history as an insulation installer, (about 35 years), we understand the needs of insulation contractors. This has helped us to become a leader in the cellulose industry in providing industry recognized high quality products and excellent service. We have accomplished this by becoming big enough to be full service, (being the largest privately owned cellulose producer) and small enough to care, (we are a family owned business).
